Comic-Con was this weekend. Historically, it’s been a place where Out Cast virgins dress up like daleks and as far as star power goes, buying an autographed 8″x10″ from the lady who played Female Romulan #2 on an episode of Deep Space Nine was the highlight. But now Being a Geek is cool, and Comic-Con attracts all kinds of fancy people, from Angelina Jolie to Blake Lively, who was there promoting Green Lantern. The Nerds surely got a thrill, as Blake paired her silken Hammer pants with copious cleavage. These are the strangest implants in A-list Hollywood history. They’re small, yet sorta big …. Like Oreos. Luckily, comic nerds are used to playing with little plastic figurines, so this fits into their fantasies quite nicely.
Kim Kardashian is worried one of her fans is going too far by wanting plastic surgery to resemble her in an attempt to save her marriage.
A fan of reality star Kim Kardashian has stated that she wants to have plastic surgery to look like Kim Kardashian so that her husband won’t leave her.
Kim Kardashian posted on Saturday saying “No” to the woman’s entry.
The fan had posted: “I’m getting head 2 toe plastic surgery nxt week 2 look like @kimkardashian so my husband won’t leave me. He worships her”
“Pls don’t,” Kardashian, 29, begged the fan in her response. “Ur husband should love u 4 who u are! Don’t try 2 b someone else. Im sure u are beautiful inside and out! Just as u are.”
Kim continued, “Don’t change yourself for anybody but yourself…be happy with who u are! Someone will appreciate and adore u just as you are.”
Kim Kardashian doesn’t object to having cosmetic surgery but doesn’t want to look like a totally different person.
“I’m totally not against plastic surgery,” she told ABC News’ Cynthia McFadden back in May. “I’ve tried Botox before. That’s the only thing that I’ve done.”
“I’ve never had my nose done,” she said. “What’s funny about my nose, it’s my biggest insecurity. I always want to get my nose done . . . I went to the doctor, I had them take the pictures, he showed me what it would look like and it just didn’t — I wouldn’t look the same.”
Do you guys think any fan should try and look like a celebrity just to keep their husband?
Jailed star Lindsay Lohan was reportedly put in lockdown after she pitched a fit after some other inmates heckled her.
Lindsay Lohan reportedly pulled a “hysterical fit” in front other inmates after prisoners chanted “fire crotch” at her.
“Lindsay would lie there shivering all night, crying and covering her face with her hands. Her wailing was keeping everyone awake …. She had a hysterical fit, crying and yelling, so she got put in isolation,” said Cheryl Presser, an inmate who was just released.
Lohan was briefly admitted to a nearby medical center after reports she may be self-harming.
Lohan was sentenced to 90 days in jail for violating the probation terms of her 2007 case for not attending enough classes.
Although she is sentenced to 90 days, sources say she will only serve 9-14 days.
Angelina Jolie’s new spy thriller Salt failed to take the North American box office crown from Leonardo DiCaprio’s Inception, which enjoyed a stronger-than-expected hold in its second weekend.
According to studio estimates, Inception earned US$43.5 million during the three days beginning on Friday, with Salt in second place with US$36.5 million.
Pundits had predicted Salt might hit the US$40 million mark, although distributor Columbia Pictures said the opening was in line with its expectations.
The three-day estimate represents a significant drop from the US$50 million openings for each of Jolie’s last big films, Wanted and Mr and Mrs Smith.
Jolie earned US$20 million for Salt, a timely thriller about Russian sleeper spies preparing to bring the United States to its knees. The high-energy action role was originally envisaged for Tom Cruise, who went on to make the box office dud Knight and Day instead.
With a relatively modest US$100 million price tag, Salt was directed by Australian filmmaker Phillip Noyce and co-stars Liev Schreiber and Chiwetel Ojiofor. Columbia, a unit of Sony Corp, said women accounted for 53 percent of the audience.
Salt is expected to make most of its money overseas. It opened promisingly in India and Taiwan, according to Columbia, and will expand to Japan, Russia, South Korea and Brazil next weekend.
INCEPTION RACES TO US$144 MILLION
Inception, starring DiCaprio as a thief who steals secrets from deep within people’s subconscious, raced to US$143.7 million after 10 days, thanks to a drop of just 31 percent from last weekend. Movies generally lose about half of their opening-weekend audience.
“It’s driven by word of mouth, it’s driven by repeat business already,” said Dan Fellman, domestic distribution president at Warner Bros. “When you get that momentum going, it’s hard to stop.”
The US$160 million project was written and directed by Christopher Nolan, the English filmmaker responsible for the last two Batman movies. Warner Bros. is a unit of Time Warner Inc.
New at No. 6 with a modest US$8 million was the children’s book adaptation Ramona and Beezus starring Joey King and Disney starlet Selena Gomez.
Distributor 20th Century Fox, a unit of News Corp, said it had expected a US$6 million opening and noted the picture cost just US$15 million to make. As expected, the film’s primary audience was mothers and daughters.
The Universal Pictures cartoon Despicable Me slipped one spot to No. 3 with US$24.1 million, taking its total to US$161.7 million after just three weekends. Universal is a unit of General Electric Co.
Two Walt Disney Co releases rounded out the top five. The Nicolas Cage dud The Sorcerer’s Apprentice fell one spot to No. 4 with US$9.7 million, taking its total to US$42.6 million after 12 days.
Toy Story 3 held at No. 5 with US$9 million. The total for the year’s biggest movie rose to US$379.5 million.
Even though Angelina Jolie plays a suspected Russian sleeper agent in her latest movie, in real life she thinks US-Russian relations are going well.
Jolie was in Moscow for the Russian premiere of the movie Salt, just a few weeks after 10 Russian sleeper agents were expelled from the United States in exchange for four Russians accused of spying for the West.
She told reporters at the Oktyabrskaya theatre, “you don’t want to focus on the negative behind this issue of the spy swap because I think that what is happening between our countries is wonderful these days, so many positive movements forward”.
Fans waited hours in 35 degree heat outside the theatre to get a glimpse of the star, who wore a scarlet gown with deep cleavage.
Paris Hilton was reportedly so determined to make her ex-boyfriend leave a nightclub she asked the DJ to announce she didn’t want him there.
The hotel heiress split from reality TV star Doug Reinhardt earlier this year. She hasn’t discussed the reasons for the break-up, only saying she felt she deserved “something much better”.
Paris has been holidaying in St Tropez over the past few days, and partied at nightspot Les Caves du Roy on Thursday night.
When she got to the club the 29-year-old was horrified to see Doug dancing in the crowd, and decided to make her annoyance known.
“She asked the DJ to announce, ‘Paris wants Doug Reinhardt to get out’. He left 30 minutes later with his head down,” a source told the New York Post newspaper.
Paris was at the nightclub with tycoon Jho Low, who she is good friends with.
Further reports suggest Jho’s brother Zhen Low was also at the club, and indulged in a competition with another partygoer, Winston Fisher, to see who could spend more on champagne. It has been claimed the two men spent around two million Euros on the bubbly beverage.
The latest episode of Eureka was another great offering that left me with mixed emotions by the end.
First, I am really sad and disappointed that Tess and Carter broke up. I don’t see the reason behind the split, as it feels arbitrary and forced.
I understand the writers think that the show needs the Carter/Allison tension to exist. That’s a trap many shows fall into. But Eureka is written well enough that it could move on past the Allison/Carter issues not lose any suspense. However, I don’t think the writers are willing to give up their favorite hat-trick.READ THE REST OF THIS ARTICLE
As for Leonard and Penny? They won’t be swapping spit again any time soon.
The Big Bang Theory moves to 8 p.m. on Thursdays next season.
But, according to writer Lee Aronsohn at Comic-Con yesterday, one thing will remain the same on this CBS comedy: a focus on Sheldon’s personal life. Look for Mayim Bialik to reprise her season finale role as his potential love interest.
“Sheldon is not changing from the Sheldon we know. The challenge has been to figure out what kind of a relationship members of this species might have,” Aronsohn said.
Show runners Chuck Lorre and Bill Prady said the two would “get back to being friends” this season, each exploring new relationships.
“We just want to do what will provide us with more stories,” Lee said of the pair. “We’ve seen shows that have really hurt themselves by doing a lot of will-they-won’t-they, and when they finally do, no one really cares anymore. We want to keep it interesting.”
Meanwhile, Apple cofounder (and one-time Dancing With the Stars contestant) Steve Wozniak will guest-star on an episode.
The Big Bang Theory makes it move and premieres on September 23.
So admits Dexter Morgan in the opening scene from season five of Dexter, as previewed in a trailer released this week at Comic-Con.
Following the brutal murder of his wife, this typically unfeeling serial killer will experience an emotion this fall with which he isn’t familiar: guilt.
Check out a few photos from the September 26 premiere now – and then watch below as Dexter deals with accusations from Astor; pressure from Quinn; and the overriding, unshakable, undeniable realization that this is all his fault…
